When my son, Charlie, was born in April, 2019, he was diagnosed with a rare syndrome. This syndrome is associated with an array of medical complexities, developmental delays, and significant surgical intervention. It has opened our minds and hearts, and compelled me to shift my research to a more personally fulfilling and meaningful focus: caregiving.
I want to understand more about parent-caregivers’ experiences communicating with their child, family, friends, co-coworkers, and medical professionals. The first step for me is interviewing parent-caregivers of a child with disabilities, special needs, and/or medical conditions whose caregiving role exceeds that of a typical parent. If this applies to you or to someone you know, please consider participating in my study on caregiving. I would love to interview you to better understand your experience so that I can create a resource to help parent-caregivers navigating these challenges. Thank you!
